The Strange Voice of T.S. Eliot

I’m taking a class called ‘Looking into Music’, and we have to do 3 experiments throughout the semester that have something to do with sound/music. For my first experiment, I created my own notation of the very strange voice of T.S. Eliot reading the first stanza of the first section of The Waste Land. I guess this is sort of in line with my recent predilection for infographics.

My initial notes when I was listening to the first minute of the recording over and over again.

I couldn’t upload a clip because of WordPress restrictions, so here’s a five-minute excerpt from the poem. The first stanza is up to 1:12.
