Imagine

Imagine that you were here,
With me,
In the same space,
Breathing the same air, each other’s air.
That all the world shrunk down to us, and
Finally. Finally together again.

Imagine that you were here,
Not with me,
In the same space,
The delicious longing that I would feel for you,
That poeticism of not-being-together,
The overwhelming desire to desire you.

Either way, the pain would feel
So good.

I cannot imagine.

Imagination is dangerous.
