So the reason why I was exploring at Marina Barrage a few weeks back was because I’m doing freelance graphic design for TheatreWorks‘ 24-Hour Playwriting Competition, which is an annual competition that pits aspiring playwrights against each other to see who can come up with the best script for a short play within 24 hours. This year’s venue is the Marina Barrage, so I took my inspiration from the architecture of the place, and my final design was based on the Marina Bridge, which is the dam itself:

However, my very first design was based on the iconic grass rooftop of the Marina Barrage building:


Anyway, based on the bridge, this was the first draft that I came up with:


And after all the recommended changes from TheatreWorks, PUB and South East CDC were completed, this is the final version of the flyer which everyone will hopefully start seeing around town:
